LaSalle College International Jakarta Shares Spotlight in Jakarta Fashion Week 2012!
If you read newspaper recently, you might have heard the most exciting event that happen in Jakarta’s fashion world this month. Jakarta Fashion Week 2011/2012 was back to feast the eyes of these fashion-spies in Jakarta. LaSalle College International Jakarta with its Fashion Design and Fashion Business program has surely highlighted this as one of the monumental moment for the uprising young talented designers making their debut in this prestigious and professional fashion event.

We are proudest to present “Débutante”, a fabulous show with 8 labels of LaSalle College International Jakarta’s Fashion Design and Fashion Business students. They have successfully made their debut, introducing their fresh and outstanding ready-to-wear collections in a 30 minute-fashion show on November 16, 2011 at Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta.
Mimi Rue, a contemporary version of the classic and retro from the 40’s and 50’s, opened the show bringing those glamour daze back to date. Jeanette Anandajoo, the designer, brought a feminine appeal shown by the daily female wear which is easy, fun and flirty. The cute floral- playsuits and the retro jazz music composed a beautiful opening, made all eyes set on the collection. If you love a straight and masculine-silhouette look, then you would love Chromophobia, a debut collection from Identitè by Jessica Yuri and Winny Christy, referring to the abnormal fear of colors which was reflected in the edgy monochromic tone of gray, black and white, signifying both the boldness and delicacy of a woman.
Emphasizing elements from the 80’s, Coloriot by Jeffika and Shirleen with “An Audacious Journey”, brought a bright and fun collection which was inspired by travel, exploration and the spirit of the European road trip, making the pieces effortlessly chic with a colorful vintage vibe to it. While Coloriot brought the travelling-ambience, Impromptu by Teresia Novelita with her “Autumn Rush” collection a ladies-daywear inspired by the sycamore tree on autumn days. Hats off to Inka Fesca by Inneke and Anthea for giving the show more dazzling with their Sinfully Vatican collection, intrigued by the combination of Vatican with sparkling lights of Vegas city.
Stockholm-street-style was the inspiration for Nine -12 collection by Dian Aisyah. Nine-12 brought a whole new definition of youthfull and polished pieces in a more fabulous way. Jii by Gloria Agatha with Euphorbia collection with a floral essence, inspired by the Euphorbia flower, which was shown on the design through flower embroidery applications, making it perfectly suit for woman of all ages to wear in any occasions. To close the show, Alekeunike by Aleksander & Eunike with Moving still, with a fashion forward experimental touch for both men and women collection, reflecting a dynamic and energy into one frame.
In a wrap, the show was a strong presentation of sellable ready-to-wear collections, each with their own character. It was absolutely awesome show. The audience got most excited to see “Debutantè”, a grand parade from the 8 up-and coming-fashion designers from LaSalle College International Jakarta, giving a fresh breeze to the fashion world in the future. Well done, designers! It’s about time for you to enter the fashion industry and show the world your excellent creativeness ad boldness in fashion.
